But W.H.Y. Solo?

“How can you even think of going solo anywhere, that too out of country? Are you totally out of your mind?”…Fortunately, these were NOT the words of my parents, I was quite relieved. Its not that they don’t care but it was their non-familiarity from traveling/solo traveling world. I mean they are pretty simple-caring-parents, not following modern-trends-but-doing-daily-life kinda parents. Of course, they were concerned of my safety and well being but once I assured them, they were fine. I just let them know about my travel plan and that I am going solo… it came quite natural to us as I took all my life decisions, so it was easy.

I did NOT discuss or tell anyone other than my only/best friend. Since she was away from town, so I was all alone to research, plan, book flights and accommodations for entire trip..it was pretty intense. I had cold feet just before three days of travel and my mind almost wanted to cancel my ticket and stay in my comfort zone. My heart said “I have to do this for myself”.

Solo travel was exact thing that I needed to get out of my comfort zone and ‘Challenge’ myself. I have NO words how fulfilling and rewarding ‘Solo’ travel has been to me, specially being Indian female solo traveler…when it was an unheard thing back then.

It was a looootttt of self-persuasion, self-doubt…but at the end self-love over weighed those emotions. I stood for myself and my dreams. You too have toIf you came across this article, its your sign to give yourself permission to do something you always wanted to but never dared to.
